All cats have Asperger syndrome by Hoopmann, Kathy

Publication: . 65 p. : ill. (colour) ; 22 cm 25

This is a gorgeous book and although I enjoyed it, my 6 year old thought it really was a story about cats, and couldn't understand how they were able to talk to each other. It may be a concept more easily understood by older and less literal readers.

Aspertools for All Brains: The Practical Guide for Understanding and Embracing Asperger's, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Neurodiversity by Reitman, Harold

Publication: Deerfield Beach, FL : Health Communications , 2015 . 264 p. ; 216 x 140mm Date: 2015

An accessible and often lighthearted account of an orthopeadic surgeon's and his daughter's journey toward understanding her Asperger's (today recognised as high functioning end of the autism spectrum) and the strategies and tools that they uncovered along the way for helping people with this condition manage the multitude of demands that everyday life entails. Whilst this is not a particularly scientific read, it is bound to spark a few ideas (or more) for people affected by this condition, as well as their supporters and significant others.
