We hypothesized that animal assisted therapies (AAT) may have a relevant and independent effect on people's behavior and social abilities. The secondary purpose was to evaluate the effectiveness of AAT with dogs as a supportive tool for the rehabilitation of people with severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
