"This book was created for children who need extra support and guidance in understanding routines related to caring for their bodies. Through attention to word, sentence and photo section, these stories use unambiguous language and concrete visual support." - BOOK INTRODUCTION
Plain simple text accompanied by photographs on every page, introduce everyday activities to young children with an autism spectrum disorder. The activities include washing hands, brushing teeth, having a bath, and going to the hairdresser and doctor.
A very brief outline prepares children for each activity to come, by listing the responses to who: what: where: when: how: why: This is then followed by a sequential break down of the tasks, while at the same time giving parents tips and suggestions regarding sensory and safety issues as well as advice on how to make the process a pleasant event.
This book has managed to balance the needs of both parents and children when it comes to developing social skills producing a non threatening considerate formula for success.

Would be good for pre-school and year 1-3 children. Something similar for teenagers would be good.
