Reports the findings of a study investigating real life experiences of decision making by people with autism spectrum disorders. Compared with neurotypical individuals, intellectually able people with ASCs not only experience greater difficulty with decision making, but it is also associated with anxiety, exhaustion, problems engaging in the process and a tendency towards avoidance. Makes a number of recommendations for ways in which people with ASCs could be better supported to make certain decisions.
