Very useful as has social stories which can be used as is, or as a basis for personalising social stories related to specific issues that a student is facing

Wonderful book, lots of tips about how to manage yourself and look after yourself. Daughter has used a lot of the helpful hints.

A great resource for puberty and personal hygiene. Exactly what I was looking for to help a young woman with ASD make sense of menstruation.

Probably useful with young people able to sustain some discussion

This book helped the parent sort out what the real issues were around the personal hygiene issues with her sons.

Very adaptable. I'm going to get a copy for myself.

Fantastic book for teaching life skills

Good topics that people usually don't focus on in books. Much better for adult use than the Carol Gray social story books. Would need to be adapted for individuals but would be a helpful model.

This book was recommended by a 'special school'. A good teaching tool - of limited use for a committed teacher/caregiver. Great ideas.

'Taking Care of Myself' fulfilled my need for social stories for older children - couching statements in an appropriate way. Thank you.

Patron comment on

Taking Care of Myself was a bit wordy, too long for my child with limited language

Book is a little dated. No pictures.
