"This DVD will educate those who have little knowledge of autism and offer new insights to parents of those with autism or Asperger's syndrome and for professionals working in the field. You will find Dr Grandin's perspective fascinating, points well taken, and candid appraisals of the autism world refreshing. The question and answer period at the end of the presentation adds personal touches you will find particularly interesting." - DVD CASE
You might think that 90 minutes of someone giving a conference presentation would be as interesting as watching paint drying (as did I).
However, this is absolutely not the case. Dr Grandin has a mighty presence, a no-nonsense approach and the ability to illuminate complex ideas with ease. Her presentation includes, inter alia, how DSM-5 will affect everyone from parents and children on the spectrum to medical and insurance professionals, the autistic brain, where does normal end and abnormal begin, teaching techniques that work.
Highly recommended.
