We find out why work for people with a learning disability can be a real option in their life choices. And we meet Dudley's Job Coach service that provides such valuable help to employers wishing to hire people with learning disabilities." - DVD CASEReview: This DVD shows how a community, strongly supported by the City Council, can be accepting and inclusive of people with disabilities. Dudley is an encouraging example of how thinking a bit differently and putting good support in place enables people with disabilities to live balanced and fulfilled lives that include meaningful and satisfying employment. It’s Working in Dudley makes the point that people with disabilities are “experts by experience” in knowing what good service looks like as they are frequently on the receiving end of service. They will then use this expertise in their jobs. Self advocate David Corner said the DVD was very well done. He liked the positive message that with support people with disabilities “can have the opportunity to get a job”. He particularly recommends this DVD to employers and self advocates.

Great DVD. I reallly liked the idea of 'job coaches' - a link that seems to be missing in employment support for service users
