Summary: "When her son was diagnosed as autistic, Sheila Barton set about learning how to live a different life and be a different kind of mother from the one she'd expected to be. Here she draw us into her family's journey as they search for support, confront ignorance and blame, and face daily realities from Jonny's mystifying perspective : brothers and sisters, therapies and toilet training, school and holidays, sex and grief, moments of terror and moments of grace. With extraordinary clarity and empathy, in luminous prose and harrowing detail, she sheds light on the darkest corners of the autistic experience - and emerges with a sense of liberation, hope and love." - BOOK JACKET

Really good read. A mother;s honest story about her son - "no holds barred". Made me feel it's OK to despair sometimes, without feeling bad. Would recommend to any parent/family of an autistic child.
