The introduction to this book states that “one out of every four – or even six for that matter – children have some sort of physical, developmental or mental-health disorder” and “Add to that the new kind of spelling be” where a child is afflicted with “multiple alphabetic diagnoses: ADHD, OCD, ODD, ASD, APD, SAD, COS, PDD, SID...”. Hence the title of the book which cover more than 70 different childhood disorders..
Before the main alphabetical section is a chapter entitled “What You Need to Know” where the terms and abbreviations used in the book are explained and a warning in respect of medication.
