They play, make music and enjoy craft time together. It is through these activities that they discover each of them has special abilities and strengths. Consideration is given as to how other children perceive those with a disability. Is it catching? How should I behave? What will this person do? are just some of the questions that become part of a classroom discussion. I really dont like the page where it says people with DS have flat faces and a small mouth. It's not correct and it gets such a wrong picture into the young readers' minds. Apart from that the book is really quite good.

Not as good as other books received. Pics too arty - like the real person pics.

This is an excellent book. The portrayal of DS is lovely. It has a very positive tone.It explains that we are all different and Tammy actually is able to teach her friend some things. Well balanced.
