"This course has been designed to help social workers, staff in residential homes, foster carers and adoptive families to understand how they can support traumatised children who are going through changes in their lives." - INTRODUCTION
This is a very good teaching programme for staff and carers.
The book and CD-Rom are clear and easy to follow. The training package which explains the following: transition in service users lives, attachments, growing through grief, managing unplanned transitions, impact on carers and service users when placements end. Good exercises throughout the book for group participants to work through.
The book would assist with the training and development of carers and staff.

I thought there would be more on "closure" in general but thisis mostly about children in care, rather than support workers encouraging independence.
