Autism is a World is no schmalzy "triumph over the odds" type film but a real, even intimate exposition of how Susie Ruben, her family, friends and carers manage the ups and downs of the manifestations of this yet-to-be-fully explained disorder. This short (about 40 minute) documentary is highly recommended both for Susie's moving description of her experience of autism and the dedicated, finely attuned support of family, friends, the medical and educational fraternity and carers.
