The organisation they work for, Hand in Hand, was founded in 2012 in Bishkek by a parental group determined to improve the standard of their autistic children's education. It offers education to autistic children from early childhood to transition to adulthood, a program which is entirely unique in a country that thinks autism relates to being mentally incompetent. |
