| Summary, etc. | Notes that autism which is common in individuals with fragile X syndrome is often difficult to diagnose. Compares the diagnostic classifications for two measures for autism diagnosis, the ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule) and the ADI-R (Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised), in addition to the DSM-IV-TR in 63 males with this syndrome. Finds that overall, 30 percent of the subjects met criteria for autistic disorder and 30 percent met criteria for PDD-NOS. Discusses these findings. |
