"Terrible at making small talk? Always misreading signals? Want to know the ultimate flirting tip? Worried how to act in an interview? The Social Survival Handbook is here to help. It's full of Really Useful advice, facts, tips and quizzes on all these issues and more." - BOOK JACKET As the cover says this may be a “really useful handbook” for teens struggling with social situations and more. While not specifically for people with an intellectual disability it is written in clear language with the main points in short bullet point statements. These are preceded by a brief paragraph of explanation.
The handbook covers a range of situations such as making new friends, talking to people you don’t know and how to do well in an interview.
This is a book that the reader can dip into to find the page that interests them without having to read the “boring bits”.
Covers the broad topics of body language, flirting, communication and being confident.
Recommended by Carolyn O’Neill who says they are aimed at teenagers and quite readable, so would translate well for people we support.
Nice easy to read layout etc covering a wide range of topics.
Well illustrated with a mix of simple drawings and photographs.
